@Everydaydprk the Remarkable Photojournalism of David Guttenfelder

Not your average instagram account. Photojournalist David Guttenfelder offers a window into the DPRK. Guttenfelder has travelled regularly to the country over the past 15 years.

Everydaydprk gives an unprecedented look at one of the most secretive regimes in the world. David Guttenfelder created the everyday DPRK instagram to showcase his photography after visiting the regime for over 15 years. David also has another Instagram account (@drewkelly), where he exclusively only uses his iPhone to create his photos. EveryDayDPRK has now gained almost 90k followers and its not hard to see why. Instagram done right.

“It sounds elementary to say this, but outside the hostile relationship North Korea has with the world, there’s real people there with real lives,” he says. “People take the bus to work in the morning, they play sport in the park, they fall in love. These are normal struggles that aren’t unique to North Korea. There are so many things that we share.” – David Guttenfelder
